The High Court today held that the proposed abolition of Britwell Parish Council by Slough Borough Council was unlawful. The judge has therefore quashed the Abolition Order.

There are 14 persons who have been nominated to stand for the 7 Councillor positions on Britwell Parish Council , in the elections due to be held on Thursday 2nd May 2019.

The names of all 14 persons are set out on the attached Statement.

Britwell Parish Council elections will take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

Britwell Parish Council has  begun legal action to quash Order for its Abolition.

On 15 January 2019, Slough Borough Council issued an order to abolish Britwell Parish Council. At the Parish Council meeting on 16 January, the Clerk was requested to get legal advice  to challenge this.
